I see life through the eyes of a dreamer… It moves before me in shades of black and white...
There is something to be said about the art of photograph; the way it captures and immortalizes those unforgettable moments there is also something to be said about the artist behind the lens. Much like literature, photography tells an important story and the photographer behind the lens is the author. Dominique Fierro is one of these storytellers. Drawn to the lens early on, Dominique has made it her life to capture those unforgettable, and often times most beautiful moments on camera. Dominique uses her art to explore the depth of the human experience. Whether shooting exotic locations or abstract images, she is able to expose the most magnificent and beautiful aspects of life’s little nuances.
Born in Washington, DC, Fierro is a native east coaster who began her career as a photographer early on. Earning her degree from the Art Institute in 2003 Dominique has spent the last several years traveling and bringing the background into the forefront.
Last year she was selected as the exclusive photographer to capture history when President Barack Obama hosted a dinner honoring Senator John McCain. Dominique's work has been featured in a variety of DC hotspots including MTV's “Real World DC” house, DC Modern Luxury Magazine, FotoDC Flash Exhibit, Studio H, Peacock Cafe and Art DC.
With a love for nature and a will to capture the soul of everyone she photographs, Dominique's style is intricate and captures movement ripe with qualities of depth. As an artist, she creates work that is moved and inspired by life and emotion. She takes reality and makes it superb, showing that within simplicity, there is a beautiful and complex picture living and breathing behind it all.
Inspired by photographers Patrick Demarchelier, Helmut Newton and Sante D'Orazio she also has a love of fashion and works as a display artist. Fierro’s work has been showcased at Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus where she has created impactful window and store displays as well as floral design and was also a photo assistant for Micheal Bennet Kress & Associates in Bethesda, MD.
In an effort to help draw attention to meaningful causes, Fierro donates a portion of the proceeds for all of her fine artwork to humanitarian organizations Save Darfur and Enough Project, and also volunteers her photography services to non-profit groups including Taproot Foundation and Capital Partners for Education.
Each piece of her artwork is hand-signed and limited-edition, printed onto premium quality artist canvas. Prints are available in custom sizes up to 60" x 70" and presented with gallery wrap, ready to hang.
